The Tretyakov Gallery is the world’s largest collection of the works of Russian artists and a well-known Moscow museum. It is worth spending the whole day there, as the museum includes icons, classical paintings, graphics and sculptures, as well as modern art.
Your private guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel or any other address within the city center provided by you. You will travel to the Gallery by metro (tickets included) or by taxi (at your own expense).
During our 3-hour tour, you can admire great masterpieces and also get to know the rich history of Russian fine art. The gallery was founded in 1856 by a wealthy merchant and a famous patron of the arts Pavel Tretyakov, who had been collecting unique artworks and supporting Russian artists for many years. The works of such outstanding painters as Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Viktor Vasnetsov, Ivan Shishkin and Mikhail Vrubel are prominent in the main building of the gallery.
Continue your artistic journey with a guided stroll through Zamoskvorechye - the historic district "behind the Moscow River." This charming area on the southern bank offers a perfect extension of your cultural exploration. Away from main tourist paths, with its hidden gems and quiet courtyards, it's one of the few places where you can experience the authentic atmosphere of old Moscow.
Your guide will be happy to accompany you back to your hotel, or you may choose to remain in the city center to continue exploring Moscow at your leisure.
